R-value for sleeping mats – What does it mean?
The R-value indicates how well a sleeping mat protects against cold from the ground. The higher the value, the better the thermal insulation – which is crucial for comfort and safety during outdoor adventures.

Which sleeping mat is right for your trip?
R-value 0–2 → Light insulation, ideal for warm summer nights.
R-value 2–4 → Perfect for spring and autumn.
R-value 4–6 → Suitable for cold temperatures down to freezing.
R-value 6+ → Maximum thermal insulation for extreme winter trips and expeditions.
